Congestion `likely to give way to over-capacity'
Despite today's congestion problems, over-capacity may be the position in two years time, Andrew Penfold from Ocean Shipping Consultants warned at the Zelus Port Congestion Solutions conference in Amsterdam.
The overall balance of supply and demand in the north Europe region would see utilisation fall from 81.2% in 2004 to a low of 69.3%, in 2010, he predicted last week.
