Brisbane firm to come up with rescue needs

A Brisbane firm has secured a contract to provide crew and high-tech search and rescue equipment support for the Australian Maritime Safety Authority's new Dornier 328 turboprop aircraft.

It will begin patrolling northern Australia in August.

Queensland premier Peter Beattie said that Australian Maritime Systems (AMS) based at Eagle Farm, near Brisbane Airport, has signed a three-year deal with AeroRescue, part of the Paspaley Group, based in Darwin.
