Kangaroo Island freight task pressure
Kangaroo Island's freight transport needs will reach crisis point within the next decade unless a “whole-of-island” approach is adopted to address the issue, the South Australian Freight Council has warned.
SAFC general manager Neil Murphy said that all relevant Kangaroo Island business sectors must have input into planning and developing the region's future industry requirements. Freight costs to and from the island represent up to 25% of the producer's revenue.
