Officer locked up over pills

The third officer of a Liberian flag ultra large crude carrier has spent nearly two months in jail in Fujairah after his arrest for posession of a small quantity of prescription sleeping pills.

Customs searched the Croatian third mate of the Liberian flag ULCC Marine Pacific, Denio Ruskovic, when he disembarked at the end of January. Despite the items being identified as mild sleeping pills, prescribed for his personal use he was taken...
