Commodity prices boost Glencore profits
Closely-held Swiss company Glencore International, the world's biggest commodity trader, posted a 15% increase in profit last year as energy, metals and agriculture prices climbed to all-time highs, Bloomberg reports.
Net income climbed to a record US$6.1bn, from US$5.3bn in 2006, according to an earnings report. Sales rose 22% to US$142.3bn.
