EU wake-up call on shipping emissions
The maritime industry must “wake up” and do something about its emissions before ships are denied entry into European ports, according to the cabinet chief of the European Transport Comm-issioner Jacques Barrot.
Industry executives were dreaming if they thought they would escape new legislation designed to cut emissions such as sulphur and carbon dioxide, Benoit Le Bret said.
