IMO review of piracy legislation
Arrest and prosecution of pirates remains extremely difficult and the International Maritime Organization (IMO) is conducting a review of the legal situation, secretary- general Efthimios Mitropoulos said.
The IMO has obtained a number of submissions from countries on how they deal with piracy in their own legislation, but Mr Mitropoulos said more responses from country delegations were needed.
