Maersk finds new scope with two-stroke fuel
AP Moller-Maersk said it has proved that two-stroke engines can operate at much lower loads than previously thought, opening the way for huge fuel and environmental savings.
Following a year-long assessment of operating conditions on more than 100 of its containerships, the Danish owner has shown that engines can be run with operating loads as low as 10%, rather than the 40%-60% previously recommended by the engine...
