Expansion plans: Michael Byrne flags the need for almost 300 new staff
Chief executive Michael Byrne said the scope of work, including distribution centre design and management, linehaul and local distribution, will add almost 300 people to the Linfox team.
“Linfox helped review National Foods’ Australian supply chain operations and developed a powerful supply chain solution which will establish a state-of-the-art distribution centre network and specialised delivery vehicle fleet,” Mr Byrne said.
“We are using cutting edge SAP IT to provide leading transport and warehouse systems to effectively manage our customer’s distribution operations.
“We are delighted to be working with such an iconic business.
"The National Foods business has grown rapidly in the last two decades and our expertise will help the company achieve significant distribution efficiencies.”
National Foods Limited, which operates in every state, is one of Australia’s largest food and beverage companies, with core activities in milk, fresh dairy foods, juice, soy beverages and specialty cheese.
Its brands include Dairy Farmers, Berri, Coon, Pura, King Island, Farmers Union and Yoplait.
National Foods’ group executive corporate services and logistics, Conor O’Malley, said the deal was aimed at reducing complexity, providing supply chain visibility and help his firm deliver a best-in-class service to its customers.
