The $2m Tasports Security Operations Centre, which began operating in May, was officially opened yesterday by Tasmanian infrastructure minister Graeme Sturges.
The state-of-the-art operation has a 24-hour interactive security system, monitoring all Tasports sites through 105 cameras.
The new technologies and systems have significantly increased Tasport's ability to monitor and control security and safety conditions at its port sites across the state.
