Master facing six charges after Greenpeace protest

The master of the Greenpeace ship, Esperanza, is facing six charges for his part in a protest that halted coal loading operations at the ports of Hay Point and Abbot Point in Queensland last week.

Queensland Police said that Vladimir Votiacov, 39, was arrested on August 8 and faced charges including unregulated high risk activity, wilful damage and trespass.

He is scheduled to re-appear in court on August 19.
