POTA on verge of $3bn Legend logistics deal

High-profile Melbourne businessman Joe Gutnick's mining firm, International Holdings, has signed a memorandum of understanding with P&O Trans Australia (POTA) for haulage and handling services associated with its Legend’s Georgina Basin phosphate project in Queensland.

The MOU will guide contract negotiations worth about $40m during the first year of operations and up to $3bn over the life of a 20-year agreement, the parties said.

$3bn Legends deal

In case nobody has noticed the July 09 free on board price for Phosphate Rock was $US90.00 per tonne with $Aust up at around 84c equals a price of $107.14 Aust probably just enough to cover the supply chain mine to on board , let alone mining cost and margin!! On top of that try telling the current long suffering users of the MtIsa - Townsville rail corridor of the 1m tonne current spare capacity.
