Tonga ferry death toll downgraded to 73
Tongan authorities have revised down the death toll from the Princess Ashika ferry tragedy earlier this month from 93 to 73, after the discovery that one group of people reported missing were not on board the vessel.
Other passengers thought to have perished have since been found safe.
Local police commander Chris Kelley said he was now reasonably confident that 129 people were on board –not 149 as previously thought – when the ship sank late at night...
