€173m injection for Hapag-Lloyd
Hapag-Lloyd shareholders have agreed to pump an additional €173m (US$247.7m) to help save the ailing German container line.
An announcement by the city of Hamburg yesterday said the additional finance brought the overall rescue package to €923m.
The city is part of the Albert Ballin consortium that owns 56.7% of the carrier, with Tui holding the remaining 43.3%.
