US LNG imports set to rise
US IMPORTS of liquefied natural gas are now forecast to be more than 40% higher this year than in 2008, but are still expected to be comfortably below the record level of 2007.
The US Energy Information Administration (EIA) predicts LNG imports will rise to 14.2bn cu metres from 7.1bn cu metres in 2008, which was down from the peak of 21.8bn cu metres in 2007.
