$50bn China deal puts energy into Gorgon
CHINA has given Western Australia’s Gorgon liquefied natural gas project its biggest boost yet, with last week’s signing of a $50bn agreement to buy 2.3m tonnes of the product each year for the next 20 years.
The deal between PetroChina and ExxonMobil will result in about 60% of the Gorgon LNG project’s product being exported to China and is seen as the biggest boost yet to the project’s viability.
