Irish ports continue to experience slump

THROUGHPUT at Irish ports continued to fall in the first half of 2009, according to figures produced by the Irish Maritime Development Office (IDMO).

However, the organisation said the statistics indicate that the rate of decline is now slower than it was previously.
Traffic volumes through Irish ports peaked in 2007, and the country has since seen significant volume corrections as a result...
