Melbourne dredging complete

MAJOR channel-deepening work in Port Phillip Bay officially ended last week, and the Royal Boskalis Westminster dredger, Queen of the Netherlands, was to depart on Saturday.

Minor dredging in the Yarra River as well as work on navigation aids, berths and services protection was ongoing, but Port of Melbourne Corporation chief executive Stephen Bradford expected this work to be finished by the end of the year.
