Queensland non-coal rail network escapes sell-off
THE QUEENSLAND Government’s resolve to press ahead with its asset sale proved less than steely last week, with the non-coal below-rail network slipping the noose.
However, any hopes of the network being offloaded to theAustralian Rail Track Corporation were dashed, with premier Anna Bligh telling state parliament an approach to the Federal Government to explore ownership of that part of the network had been declined.
