Reef Pilots reports late upswing in ship numbers

AUSTRALIAN Reef Pilots (ARP) guided 1,757 ships in the year ended June 30 and although numbers are down, the company believed the trend may be reversing.

While ship numbers had fallen gradually over the past two years – 2008/09 was down 3.5% on 2007/08 and that year was down 4.5% on 2006/07 – the company recorded an overall percentage increase for July and August this year.
