Dark cloud looms over heavy imports sector
SKELTON Sherborne director Brad Skelton issued a gloomy outlook for the the transport of mining and construction equipment in the coming year as the global credit crisis forces companies to tighten budgets and downsize their operations.
The sombre warning comes as the heavy industry specialist’s first-ever imports index revealed a 90% plunge in activity since August last year, and a 77% slump in the value of imported mining and construction equipment since December.
