Portland chips in for big deal

GUNNS has convinced Port of Portland Ltd (POPL) that it was best placed to create a second hardwood chip export facility in the western Victorian coastal town.

The impending deal with the Tasmanian timber giant will give the port operator some certainty following the crash of managed investment schemes central to the huge growth of forestry in the Green Triangle Region (GTR).
A final agreement was expected...
