Vale’s ‘radical’ change for ore logistics arm

VALE has revealed how it has seized control of its shipping costs with a “radical” six-month restructure of its freight and logistics business.
The world’s largest iron ore producer confirmed it had purchased 15 secondhand bulk carriers so far in 2009, and now ships 70% of all the iron ore it sells on its own vessels.
