Port Botany container volumes surge in October

A jump in full container imports boosted total container throughput at Port Botany to a record in October, Sydney Ports Corporation said.

Total container volumes in October rose 5.8% from the same period last year to 176,900 teu.

The strength of the Australian dollar lifted container imports by 7.8% to 92,655 teu and full container exports increased 2.5% to 38,026 teu.
