Airfreight demand dips in October

Demand for international airfreight in October was dragged 0.5% lower by airlines in Europe and Africa, which were the only two regions to post a decline, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) said.

Demand for aircargo services of European carriers dropped 11.3% from October 2008 and African airlines reported a 3.8% fall, IATA's report said. 

Still, airfreight demand performance in October showed a big improvement on September’s 5.4% fall.
