Capacity cutbacks hit Evergreen revenue

Evergreen Marine, Taiwan’s largest container shipping company, has said capacity cutbacks introduced to mitigate the slump in freight rates were partly responsible for a 30% drop in revenue in November.

The company said turnover fell to T$1.29bn (US$39.8m) last month from T$1.8bn a year earlier.

That led to a further drop in revenue for the first 11 months of this year.
