Europe-Australia import slide continues
Container imports from Europe into Australia/Oceania fell 10% in October compared with a year earlier amid continued pain for the struggling trade route.
European Liner Affairs Association figures showed southbound volumes fell to 37,358 teu for the month, down from 38,915 teu in September and from 41,599 teu in October 2008.
