Mermaid in the swim with gas boom

A FAT year for Mermaid Marine got fatter last week after the offshore energy services firm sealed a five-year offtake support vessel (OSV) deal with BHP Billiton Petroleum.

Mermaid will use the 60-tonne bollard pull Mermaid Supporter to service the Pyrenees floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel.
First oil from the 13-well Pyrenees project, 13 nautical miles off Exmouth, was expected early next year.
