Chinese shipyards’ output predicted to soar in 2010

JIANGSU Rongsheng Heavy Industries, China’s largest privately-owned shipbuilder, said the number of vessels it will deliver will increase from 16 this year to 30 ships in 2010.

The shipyard, based in Nantong in eastern China’s Jiangsu province, delivered 13 vessels, comprising 11 156,000 dwt suezmax tankers and two 75,500 dwt panamax vessels, in the first 11 months of this year, according to Nantong Maritime Safety Administration.
