DI could jump 15% in 2010

THE BALTIC Dry Index, the main measure of commodity shipping costs, may jump 15% next year, aided by a recovering global economy, according to STX Pan Ocean.
The gauge may climb to an average of 3,000 in 2010 from about 2,600 this year as volumes expands, led by China, said Lee Sang Jae, head of strategic planning at STX.
