MASSIVE oversupply looms for the smaller capesize bulk carrier sector by 2011, with the global fleet facing a surplus of up to 241 vessels.
The number of small capes, defined as between 83,500 dwt and 150,000 dwt, was forecast to grow from 314 to 420 within two years, taking account of delays and cancellations at shipbuilders and demolition of elderly ships.
