Boom falls on alumina carrier

The vessel used to test Fortescue Metals Group's iron ore shiploading equipment last year has been damaged in South Africa.

The 2000-built, 73,992 dwt bulker Blumenau had just finished unloading her load of alumina at Richards Bay Dry Bulk Terminal when a boom fell on her and damaged her hatch cover and coaming.
