Shipping and transport professionals have again featured in the Australia Day honours list, with one industry leader claiming the recognition was proof the sector was increasing its influence in Australian society.
Livestock transport guru Ross Fraser, Queensland Farmers' Federation (QFF) president Gary Sansom and Shipping Australia Limited chief Llew Russell were each awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia in the 2009 honours list.
