Suez traffic down 50%, says agency

The number of vessels transiting the Suez Canal is down by almost half on normal volumes, according to a prominent local ship agency.

But there is as yet no firm evidence that the decision of some leading container lines to reroute Europe-Asia eastbound services round the Cape is having a major impact, the agent added.
