Maersk joins quest for lower box charter rates

Maersk Line is reported to be the latest containership charterer to press for a renegotiation of contract terms to reflect worsening market conditions, Lloyds List reported.

The operator of the world's largest boxship fleet is said to be offering higher charter rates in 2010 in exchange for discounts this year. Many others are taking similar steps to cut costs.
