Port Hedland boosts iron ore shipments

Iron ore shipments from Port Hedland in Western Australia increased 2.4% in January compared with the previous month.

Port Hedland Port Authority exported 13.63m tonnes of iron ore last month, up from 13.31m tonnes in December 2008.

BHP Billiton shipped 10.64m tonnes and Fortescue exported 2.67m tonnes in December 2008.
