ANL wants structure in Tasman trade

ANL Container Line is moving to convert its trans-Tasman trade from `domestic' to `international' with the introduction of destination terminal handling charges (DTHCs) in Australia and New Zealand.

It will also push within six months to switch the westbound trade from New Zealand dollars to US dollars. The eastbound direction was moved from Australian to US currency some years ago.

The carrier says the Tasman has been dominated...
