Port sports a hybrid truck to do the green thing and clear the air

Hino has handed the Port of Townsville its first hybrid truck, the manufacturer said last week.

The Hino Hybrid truck combines diesel and electric engines to reduce fuel consumption and as a result, emissions.

Port of Townsville chairman Ross Dunning said the corporation had chosen Hino's latest-generation 714 Hybrid truck primarily for its green credentials.
