Svitzer crews honoured for storm bravery in Newcastle

New South Wales Police recognised 14 Svitzer Towage employees, awarding them commendation awards last Thursday.

The awards, given to the employees at a ceremony at the Newcastle police station, were for efforts responding to distressed coal vessels during the June 2007 Newcastle storms.

During the storms, Svitzer dispatched two separate tugs to manage the crisis.
