Global crisis will scrap a thousand ships in 2009

The world's largest cash buyer of ships says more than 1000 ships will be scrapped this year as record numbers of bulk carriers, containerships and car carriers flood breakers' yards across the Indian subcontinent, Lloyd's List reports.
