Buying not yet proof of recovery : steelmakers

IT IS too early yet to say whether renewed buying of iron ore from Brazil showed a resurgent demand for steel, say European steelmakers.

Capesize bulk carrier rates have more than doubled this month on some key iron ore shipping lanes, as medium-sized steel mills in China have restocked following shutdowns or slowdowns in the final quarter of last year.
