Record year for tankers despite financial crisis
Most tanker owners achieved record breaking earnings in the spot market this year, despite the financial crisis and an unseasonally weak fourth quarter.
Average revenues surpassed boom times last seen in 2004 for most tanker types.
Secondhand deals also topped records in mid-2008, although many appear to have fallen through.
