China `stay' on 24-hr manifest

China is understood to have informally relaxed the implementation of its own version of the so-called 24-hour rule for cargo, which was supposed to take effect on January 1.

According to industry sources, an `informal' grace period of three to six months is on offer, during which no fines would be levied on mistakes, but would only be conditional on a good faith effort on compliance.
