New projects give hope for LNG vessels

As many as 30 liquefied natural gas carriers from a tradeable fleet of about 287 are sitting idle, with a further 48 due for delivery this year.
There are hopes that new capacity from delayed major LNG projects in Qatar, Russia and Yemen will finally come on onstream in 2009 to redress the glut of idle carriers.
Market utilisation in 2008 was only 60% for LNG...
