Transports' bosses take a gloomy view

Transport companies, including shipping firms, are the least optimistic about prospects for 2009 and are even gloomier than chief executives in the financial services sector, according to a new report.

The report, produced for law firm Norton Rose by the Economist Intelligence Unit, says difficulties have been apparent for most transport sectors, including airlines, shipping companies and rail operators, with the Baltic Dry Shipping Index collapsing to its lowest level...
