Swire Shipping has rejected accusations from Queensland premier Anna Bligh that the company reneged on an agreement to cover the full cost of the Pacific Adventurer oil spill in March.

In a joint statement with federal transport minister Anthony Albanese, Ms Bligh "demanded" that Swire pay the full cost of the spill, now estimated at $34m.
