Asian shippers slam transpacific rates hike
Asian shippers have joined their European colleagues in criticising proposed rate hikes by transpacific container lines and warned that shippers will “avoid shipping lines which have been hostile to shippers”.
The Asian Shipper Council said increases of up to $500 per 40ft box will not hold. It also accused the lines of taking advantage of “regulatory lapse and lack of maturity in anti-trust laws in Asia countries”.
