Hopeful lines sending boxships back to work
Hopes of a traditional northern summer upturn in containerised shipments have persuaded lines to bring a number of larger unemployed boxships back into service.
Latest Lloyd’s Marine Intelligence Unit figures show that 20 ships with nominal intake in excess of 5,000 teu have been idle for at least 19 days compared with 35 which were at anchor at the start of June.
