Rio Tinto denies benchmark agreement with China

Rio Tinto has rejected claims it agreed a 33% cut in iron prices with China’s steel mills.

Market rumours had circulated that the Chinese Iron & Steel Association had committed to a new benchmark price with Rio Tinto, but this was not true, according to the company.
