Proposal to trim Newcastle coal allocations

Port Waratah Coal Services (PWCS) has flagged a 1m tonne coal loading allocation cut for exports through the port of Newcastle.

PWCS said the "intended cut is in response to the lengthening vessel queue off Newcastle and associated demurrage costs".

Under the plan, Hunter coal producers would see their export allocations cut on a pro-rata basis for the third quarter ending September...
